When I first met Meredith, she immediately told me that it would be hard to convince Kevin to do an engagement session. Like most brides, she knew that her groom didn’t want to take any pictures that didn’t have to be taken. I immediately explained how important the engagement session is for our entire experience! Not only is it a chance to capture this time in their lives, but it is also a time for us all to practice for their wedding day! We get to know each other too! All of that combined makes the wedding day so much less stressful! It’s so important!!

And, I am SO GLAD that Kevin came around and we did it!! We met at the River View at Occoquan for their engagement session, and it was so much fun! But I wasn’t the only one who had fun! Meredith sent me an email the next day to tell me that they were both surprised at how easy and fun it was! She even said that Kevin actually had fun! I just about cried with joy!! In the middle of a crazy week taking care of a sick kid, Meredith’s email made everything worth it!

Meredith and Kevin met on the Fourth of July in Arlington on a bar crawl! Their friend groups were hanging out together, and they were just drawn together! I even love that their friends had met at a similar bar crawl earlier that year! Such a crazy coincidence in the way that their love story started.

Kevin asked Meredith to marry him on New Year’s Eve in their apartment. He got the ring earlier that day and couldn’t wait any longer to ask her!! I love when my grooms get that excited about starting this journey together!! It makes me so excited for them!
